Target Your Audience on Social Media

How do you know what social media platform to use to reach your potential customers? Who’s on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pintrest, Instagram and YouTube?

Who are your potential customers and where are they spending their time? What is the best way to convey your message and how does your audience want to view your content? The key is to figure out not just who your target audience is, but where they are the most likely to engage with you on social media.

Use this chart as a guide. For instance, if you want to reach well established business professionals, LinkedIn is where you’ll want to put your efforts. If you are looking at a more general market, try Facebook. If you are selling a product for upscale women aged 25-45 with some discretionary income, Pintrest is the new hotspot. For Business to Business Marketing, Twitter has the best record. The 18 to 24 year old demographic that responds well to video clips and visuals will find you fastest on YouTube or Instagram.

You know who wants your product or service. And you know what you want to accomplish. Let the right social media platform reach them for you.
