Acceptable Electronic File Types for Printing Purposes

The following is a list of digital file formats, designed for creating high resolution files. These are the preferred file formats if the files or graphics are intended for printing purposes:

*BMP, GIF, and JPEG (or JPG) files are typically not intended for publishing and

will most likely produce lower-quality results.

Helpful Tips

Save all colors as CMYK or designate specific PMS color(s) if known. Do not save color as RGB for this will produce lower-quality results.

Link your graphics instead of embedding them. Linking graphics makes the final main document much smaller and speeds up the composition work.

All fonts must be included. This includes Helvetica, Arial, Times, or any other font used on your document. Also, all fonts used in an EPS image must be included as well.

Avoid compressing and embedding your graphics. Compression may corrupt or distort your graphics and may not print the way you want. Embedding your graphics makes it impossible for us to fine-tune or make corrections to your job.

Specify Hairlines as .25 point rules. Hairlines created in PageMaker or Quark may not show up on a high-resolution image setter.
